(Please Tweet this if you get a chance) Last night I went to see the new hit comedy horror film “Zombieland” with a bunch of my friends who were on the crew and I must confess right up front that I’m extremely jealous that I didn’t work on this show; what it lacks in plot it makes up for with style, and it’s certainly going to look great on their resumes. This summer will mark my third year away from the film business and even though I visit enough film sets around town to satisfy my craving for the scent of diesel, I realized around the end of 2006 that I’ve been missing a different sort of smell…. the honeywagon; rolling porta-potty of the film industry.

So I started in to write it all down in an article for the website but as I’ve been so all-fired busy lately it was much simpler to toss a recorder in the car and start talking off the top of my head. Please forgive the recording quality (I threw the accent in for free).
I hope it isn’t true but I just found out that the guys who host Atlanta’s 96Rock morning radio show “The Regular Guys” (Larry Wachs and Eric Von Haessler) may have had their show cancelled for the second time in two years and I’m not very happy about it. The occasion of their first dismissal was due to FCC fine-attracting audio, sloppy engineering and the lack (or patent misuse) of a tape delay. Their employers, the increasingly-loathed Clear Channel Communications, kept them off the air for over a year. Upon the duo’s return, much of the foundations of their original Atlanta format had been pruned back severely: several (arguably) popular sidekicks had been jettisoned, lost to other timeslots or hauled away in the dumpster.
